Biodiversity supports everything in nature that we need to survive: food, clean water, medicine and shelter. Changing land use, over-exploitation of resources and climate change are all having a huge impact on biodiversity and currently 27% of all assessed species are listed as threatened with extinction.

  1. Put out some bird food
  2. Get out and enjoy the countryside – go for a walk and look around you
  3. Join the annual church litter pick or pick up some litter any time
  4. Buy an eco cleaning product
  5. Plant some bee-friendly flowers – see here for ideas
  6. Contribute to a Zooniverse project
  7. Set up a compost bin
  8. Introduce different habitats into your garden such as a patch of unmown grass, a pile of logs, a pond or a rock garden
  9. Put up a bird box or make a bug hotel
  10. Contribute to a wildlife survey such as the Great British Bird Watch, the Big Butterfly Count or Churches Count on Nature
