Biodiversity supports everything in nature that we need to survive: food, clean water, medicine and shelter. Changing land use, over-exploitation of resources and climate change are all having a huge impact on biodiversity and currently 27% of all assessed species are listed as threatened with extinction.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Put out some bird food<\/li>\n
  2. Get out and enjoy the countryside \u2013 go for a walk and look around you<\/li>\n
  3. Join the annual church litter pick or pick up some litter any time<\/li>\n
  4. Buy an eco cleaning product<\/li>\n
  5. Plant some bee-friendly flowers – see here for ideas<\/a><\/li>\n
  6. Contribute to a Zooniverse<\/a> project<\/li>\n
  7. Set up a compost bin<\/li>\n
  8. Try our churchyard trail<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  9. Introduce different habitats into your garden such as a patch of unmown grass, a pile of logs, a pond or a rock garden<\/li>\n
  10. Put up a bird box or make a bug hotel<\/li>\n
  11. Contribute to a wildlife survey such as the Great British Bird Watch<\/a>, the Big Butterfly Count<\/a>, Essex Bioblitz<\/a> or Churches Count on Nature<\/a><\/li>\n
  12. Join the RSPB’s Wild Challenge.<\/a> The Wildlife Trust also runs a Wild Challenge in June and after Christmas.<\/li>\n
  13. Use peat-free compost in your garden.<\/li>\n
