The effects of climate change have a disproportionate impact on poorer communities. Here are some things you can do to have a wider impact.<\/p>\n

  1. Commemorate a special occasion by planting a tree (National Forest<\/a>, Treedom<\/a>, Trees for Life<\/a>)<\/li>\n
  2. Write to your supermarket, local councillor or MP about a green issue that concerns you<\/li>\n
  3. Volunteer with a local conservation project eg Brentwood Countryside Volunteers<\/a>, the RSPB<\/a> or Essex Wildlife Trust<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  4. Find out how your savings are invested and consider ethical alternatives. You might be interested in the Make My Money Matter<\/a> campaign.<\/li>\n
  5. Tell a friend what you are doing and why. Share on our facebook page<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  6. Donate to an environmental charity<\/li>\n
  7. Take part in Earth Hour<\/a><\/li>\n
  8. Support a microfinance initiative eg lendwithcare<\/a><\/li>\n
  9. Find out about the Fairtrade movement and how it affects people\u2019s lives. Buy a Fairtrade product.<\/li>\n
  10. Sign a petition about an environmental issue.<\/li>\n
