The Church of England, of which St Peter’s Church forms a part, is a member of the world-wide communion of Anglican churches.\u00a0 This constitutes the third largest church in the world, with the Archbishop of Canterbury as its leading bishop.\u00a0 St Peter’s is therefore part of a richly diverse family of churches found in every part of the world.<\/p>\n

\"Chelmsford<\/a><\/p>\n

The Church of England is subdivided into dioceses, covering different geographical areas.\u00a0 St Peter’s is part of the Diocese of Chelmsford which covers the County of Essex and five east London boroughs.\u00a0 The Bishopric of Chelmsford is currently vacant.\u00a0 However, because the Diocese is large, it is subdivided into three further areas, each with its own BIshop.\u00a0 St Peter’s is looked after by the Rt Rev’d John Perumbalath, Bishop of Bradwell.<\/p>\n

\"CTB<\/a>Churches Together
\nin Brentwood<\/span><\/h3>\n

St Peter’s is also part of the family of all the churches of Brentwood.\u00a0 Churches Together in Brentwood (CTB) organises a number of events each year in order to bring Christians in the town closer together, and witness to the churches’ life.\u00a0 This includes a Walk of Witness each Good Friday in the town centre and a significant role in organising Lighting Up Brentwood, the annual lighting of the town’s Christmas decorations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
