Confirmation at St Peter’s Church

For those who have been baptised, often the next stage in faith is to be confirmed and to be able to share in the bread and wine of Holy Communion.  We usually hold preparation sessions once a year for those who think they might wish to be confirmed, and then the bishop comes to confirm the candidates at a special service.  Sometimes these preparations and services are shared with members of other local Anglican churches.

St Peter’s has a wide age-range of congregation members so we usually manage separate sessions (weekly for about six weeks or so) for adults and for young people.  If you or your child would like to explore confirmation, do please contact the Vicar for more information or to find out when the next preparation sessions will be.

You are welcome to attend preparation sessions even if you are not sure whether confirmation is right for you just yet; time spent with fellow Christians, learning more about God and the Church is never wasted!
