We are so lucky to have such a beautiful church sitting in our parish.

Maybe you were christened or married at St Peter’s Church?

St Peter’s is not just a place of worship, it is a grade II listed building with many treasures on offer, including noteworthy brasses and a stained-glass window dating back to the 15th Century. It is, therefore, important that we want to preserve the church for our children and future generations. Keeping the church building in a good state of repair requires a continuous maintenance programme and provides us with many challenges, and the Friends of St Peters were set up to support this vital work.

Anyone is welcome to become a Friend, either individually, as a couple, family or even as a company. In fact you may want to buy membership for someone else as a gift; perhaps a family member who has moved away but still wants to keep that link with their old home?

Friends will be invited to some special social events and receive regular news updates. The Friends of St Peter’s recently supported the restoration of the historic glass at the back of the church; the work was undertaken by Canterbury Cathedral Studios, led by Léonie Seliger.  In the past few years, Friends’ fundraising has also made possible a complete renewal of the church lighting, and redecoration of the internal walls.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Friends of St Peter’s, details are available from the church or alternatively from the Chairman Alan Dawson:
